Marivie and Anthony Wedding

The BIG Day!!! Marivie and Anthony have ONLY been dating for 12 years and have finally made it official! Marivie is a close close friend of mine and I am so happy and honored that they chose me to shoot their wedding. We started at Most Holy Trinity Church in San Jose and ended at a beautiful location downtown. Check out the photos! Shout out to Jessi for being my assistant. :D

I LOVE the expression on their faces in this pic...

Hellingson Family Portraits

I've had the proud pleasure to take photos of the Hellingson Family throughout the past couple of years. Baby Kainoa just made One yrs. old a couple of months ago and I took Maternity photos of his beautiful mother, Lani, who is a close friend of mine. We decided to take a stroll in the Japanese Gardens in San Jose and took a look at what we captured.

Check out the baby ducks...

Kainoa and his big brother Cisco...

I can't stop smiling EVERYTIME I see this picture!

I can't wait to start reading it and let you guys know the wonderful tips of becoming a Successful Photographer. :D

On another note, I have quite a few events that I need to post up. Sorry for the delay but I promise I will have some good stuff up soon! So make sure you check back in a couple of weeks.

Marivie and Anthony Engagement

Hey everyone! I'd like to share with you an awesome Engagement session that I had the pleasure of taking for my good friends Marivie and Anthony. I actually went to SJSU with Marivie, where we took some great photo classes together! We actually took an art class together my first semester there and we didn't speak not one word to each other the entire class. Every now and then we like to bring it up so it can give us a good laugh, but otherwise Marivie would just say I ignored her. LOL. Nonetheless, we're good friends now and I am so honored that I get to shoot her wedding. Check out this amazing engagement session that we took in Capitola, CA.

I love the moment between the two in this pic.

This is one of my favorites.

Don't you just love the colors? Gotta love Capitola. ;)

Doesn't this look like we're in Hawaii?

My OWN Photo Shoot!

So I felt it was time for a new photo for my website and I asked my most awesome friend Jessi Enguerra to help me out! She is one of the most talented people I know and there probably isn't anything artistic that she isn't good at. We went to Morgan Hill and shot around the fields and an awesome bridge near Bear Lake. I had an awesome AWESOME time and now I know how my models feel during their photo sessions. There are so many pictures where my smile is stiff and I look like I'm more in pain than I am happy. LOL. Afterwards, she was gracious enough to show me how she edits her photos. Shame on me! It's the exact same techniques we learned in our Digital Photography class that we took together and that she has mastered! :D Now that I got to brush up on my photo editing skills, I'd like to show you a few pics that she took that day and I edited. Enjoy and thanks so much, Jessi!!! I really REALLY appreciate it!! ;) P.S. I love her 5D!!! I think it's time for an upgrade! *crossing fingers*

Research

So I know I haven't posted in quite a while. I really have no excuse other than my genuine interest in researching post-production and marketing skills in Wedding Photography. I've just pre-ordered "Fast Track Photographer" by Dane Sanders. I was really quite surprised at the price. The original version was $150+ while this new edited version is less than $20. I'm SOO excited and CAN'T WAIT to read up and learn his amazing strategies on being a successful wedding photographer! But why can't it be published BEFORE May!?! :(

I've also been reading through my notes from my Photo Business classes. I ran into a great outsourcing company called Lavalu. Typically, I edit my own photos starting with the rough edit and color correction all the way to the final artistic product. This could take weeks before I can even get proofs back to my clients. Lavalu offers different kinds of editing that will save me sooo much time that I could be using on marketing!!! I've just sent them my "application form" so let's hope I can understand and get things going just in time for my wedding in May!

As far as marketing goes, I've consulted with Tri Nguyen, who is the founder of Twenty Tigers. This company focuses on building websites for various businesses but also helps with different marketing skills through the web, etc. One of the traditional forms of marketing is through basic cold calling, (which I am seriously scared of). I know, I know.. I shouldn't be scared of people hanging up on me, not even giving me the chance to explain myself, but I just SERIOUSLY am! I will try and face my fear of rejection, but how about I try other ways we discussed first? LOL. Like through blogging! :) Or e-mail campaigns. For all of you who know me personally, be prepared to get e-mails of my current specials, etc. Don't worry, I won't spam you! ;)

Kadlecek Family Portraits

My really good friend, Katie, and her family came back to visit, and we were able to take some fun family photos with their new addition, Eleanor. Katie and I graduated from SJSU the same year and she plays a big part into how I am the photographer I am today! For their family portraits, we went to Kelley Park in San Jose and went over next door to the Japanese Gardens. Ellie was starting to get a cold so she was a little fussy but I think we managed to get some great shots! Thank you for letting me take your first family photos and I miss you guys dearly! Come back and visit soon! :D

I love the moment between Ellie and her dad, Mark.

Aren't her eyes beautiful? She gets them from her mommy! :D

I love her smile in this pic! She looks like she's mid-laugh. :P

She's definitely my little Gerber baby!
